A: At AGE, we are dedicated to older adults and those who care for them. Aging touches all of us. As a volunteer, you can share in the journey of aging with aging adults in our programs and the families in our community who are caring for our elderly. We think you’ll find this rewarding and hope you’ll join us!
Q: Are there volunteer opportunities right now?
Q: When will regular programming return?
A: AGE currently plans to start the process of re-opening on June 1, 2020, pending any alternative advice from health officials. The website will be updated with changes. If you’d like to be contacted when in person volunteer opportunities become available, please email Delia Castillo at email@example.com.
Q: What supplies will I need for virtual and outdoor volunteer opportunities?
A: For virtual activities, volunteers will need access to Wi-Fi and technology tools such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone that has recording capabilities. For outdoor beautification, volunteers are required to bring their own gardening supplies including gloves, rakes, hand trowels, etc. Volunteers will also be required to bring their own protective gear including a face mask, gloves, and water. Please note: Individuals will not be permitted to enter the AGE buildings while volunteering which means volunteers will not have access to the restroom while completing their project.
Q: I work/study full-time during the week, and only have time to volunteer evenings and weekends. Do you have opportunities for me?
A: AGE’s programs and administration operate Monday to Friday during daytime hours. We have a small number of opportunities on evenings and weekends during our events throughout the year. Contact Jenna Rodarte at (512) 766-0186 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for weekend opportunities.
