She has over 20 years of experience in geriatric psychiatry and now focuses her practice on cognitive care\, with a passion for assisting patients with dementia and their families as they navigate this challenging journey. \nShe continues to participate in pharmacological research on Alzheimer’s disease through SASR\, with the goal of expanding health care options via research. Previously\, she conducted her own research on health promotion for caregivers of persons with dementia as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the UT School of Nursing. \nPrior to her nursing career\, Dr. Simpson worked as a physical therapist for 20 years.

DESCRIPTION:Save the Date!\n\n\n\n\nThe Dignity Derby launches AGE of Central Texas’ annual Donation Drive for Dignity\, a community-wide effort addressing one of the most overlooked yet essential needs facing older adults\, individuals with disabilities\, and family caregivers: Access to incontinence supplies and durable medical equipment. \nWhile the Drive includes the collection of adult pull-ups and related items\, funds raised through the Dignity Derby support AGE’s HELP Program (Health Equipment Lending Program). HELP provides free incontinence supplies and critical durable medical equipment such as walkers\, wheelchairs\, and safety equipment helping individuals overcome financial barriers\, preserve dignity\, and age safely at home. \nThis high-energy kickoff brings together corporate partners and community leaders to open the Drive\, inspire participation\, and highlight HELP’s impact. Guests will enjoy light bites\, themed activities\, and engaging moments that balance fun with purpose.
