Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) is a supervised daytime program that provides health, therapeutic, and social services for older adults and individuals with disabilities, helping them maintain independence while supporting caregivers. Research shows that for participants, adult day health programs may:

  • Enhanced Socialization: Provides a structured environment for older adults to engage in activities and build friendships, reducing loneliness and isolation.
  • Health Monitoring and Support: Offers access to medical care, therapy, and assistance with personal needs, ensuring regular health oversight.
  • Respite for Caregivers: Allows family caregivers to take a break, reducing stress and preventing caregiver burnout.
  • Cognitive and Physical Stimulation: Engages participants in activities that support cognitive health, mobility, and overall well-being.
  • Safe and Supportive Environment: Ensures a secure setting for older adults, especially those with dementia or special needs, fostering independence within a structured framework.

What does it mean to be State licensed?

AGE Thrive Centers are licensed through the State of Texas which means each Thrive Center meets the highest standards for health, safety, and care in the State. This is verified through regular State inspections. State licensing requirements include:

  • Qualifications and training for staff
  • Emergency preparedness
  • Food offered to each member and monitored through a federal program to ensure high nutritional value
  • Registered dietician oversight
  • Registered nurse oversight
