NOTICE:

Because AGE of Central Texas strives to support older adults and their family caregivers with programs and services of the highest integrity, we have severed the Carlson Law Firm’s sponsorship of our Williamson County Caregiver Conference and Striking a Balance Caregiver Conference.  In hosting these annual conferences, our agency strives to nurture and inspire family caregivers with supportive, expert, and professional programming.  Therefore, in accordance with our mission and values, we are removing any associations which detract from this focus on the needs of family caregivers.

The 4th Annual Williamson County Caregiver Conference will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at the Wingate by Wyndham Round Rock Hotel & Conference Center (1209 Interstate 35 Frontage Road, Round Rock, TX 78664). AGE of Central Texas is excited to again offer this free day of learning, support, and fellowship for family caregivers in the Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Leander, Hutto, Lockhart, and Georgetown areas.

Mark Carlson, MD, will be the keynote speaker, discussing "Getting the Most Out of Your Communication with Your Doctor."  Dr Carlson is a fellowship-trained, board-certified geriatrician, internist, and oncologist with 25 years of healthcare experience.  Prior to his move into geriatrics, he spent nearly 20 years of practice in medical oncology, where serious illness had to be managed with the latest in medical technology, compassion and a trusting patient-doctor relationship. Dr. Carlson combined these skills with his desire to help seniors in the aging process and created Be Well MD, which incorporates the highest quality medical care and provides patients with individualized attention and convenient access through an in-home medical service.  Dr. Carlson’s personal mission is to help seniors live healthier and happier lives.

The day will also feature special sessions on topics vital to caregivers, and access to regional resources and non-profit organizations serving Williamson County.
